The first tumbler fell. Sam let herself breathe. The vault didn’t have any hidden secrets. This was a good plan.
She stretched her legs as she searched for the next tumbler. Above her the city was just going to sleep. Bankers and housewives were all going to bed thinking that their money would be there in the morning. Every last coin.

The second tumbler.
She was sweating pretty hard then. There were four more to go before she could start moving goods. Funny how there was so much security through the door behind her, but once in the vault room it was just a heavy metal door. What no one had planned was for the sewer. It was small, but then so was she.

Sam licked her lips. She didn’t know how the money was stacked, but however it was, she could fit it down the drain. Then it was just a question of moving it through the sewers back to her home.

This was too easy. The tumblers flew past. She was going to pay off the house, returning the money to the very bank she as robbing.

Her hands shook. She could taste it.

The door swung open silently. Great big sacks of cash were waiting for her. She could take them out in handfuls, moving them home in her own time. She got her hands on a stack of bills.
