Audiobook Post mortem

Yesterday I posted the final chapter of The Ring of Dain Thar Duin. This audiobook took as long to make as the book itself. It didn’t help that I had to record the audio twice, as the first time around there was a mysterious bonking noise that ended up being my elbows on the armrests.

So I shut myself into a closet to record the second go around. I had a friend helping me out, reducing the amount I had to listen to myself. I got used to listening to myself, which is something, I suppose.

With the book out there. I’m going to take a little break, from audio, then record a forward and introduction. With that, I will put it onto the audio book sites and take it off Youtube.

I was nervous putting out my story into the world. I know that it was buried in the vast sea of noise that is social media, and it didn’t find an audience and that largely falls on me for not promoting it. I accept that.

Clearing the hurdle of putting something out to public had been done. I no longer worry about that. Now I have to instill in myself the ability to say “Look at my work.” Onwards and upwards.

Thanks for reading,

Michael
