Two up and I don’t remember if I’ve gotten any rejections since the last posting. I trust my document to be accurate, even if my memory isn’t. I currently have six active queries. I might have a lot more, but I marked all those over a year old as nos.
I’ve continued editing the short story to make it as tight as I can. So far I’ve cut a thousand words out. Now I’m rejiggering the pieces of the story in an effort to cut down slow parts and expand parts that could hit better.
I’ve written 50,000 words of my YA story. I think I’m going to put a pause on it. I’ve had a sequel planned for the story I’m trying to get published. After thinking it over, I think that I should put some work into the sequel so I can add this to my query. Agents like a series. If I can say that I have that book and the sequel, maybe even the third, I become a better bet for them. I’m not sure if my YA is any good, but I can come back to it in the future.
