One up and two down. One of those was from a query I made over a year ago. It was a very nice form letter, but it is crazy to see how long it takes for an agent to get through their inbox. I wonder how many more of those I will get. I’ve already given up on any query more than a year old.
I did a quick rewrite of my query letter and tried a couple new contemporary titles. I really dislike this part of the query process. I understand why agents want to know the book will fit, but I don’t think of my books as merely trend chasing.
I’m writing a short story right now. I keep taking breaks from other things because I want to try my hand at a number of strategies to get published. I think this short has something to it. The quest continues.
