I think it’s my dad’s fault.
I can still remember him reading The Hobbit to me when I was four. My favorite bit was and is the dance of the bears. Since then my head has always been stuck in the clouds.
I think I’ve known that this was going to be my path for quite some time. Though I always figured I would be a writer, I did remarkably little writing. My time in college was spent learning history (so that I could steal from it). I have always been confident in my writing. I started writing The Ring of Dain Thar Duin out of school, and it took me three years to complete. At first going was slow, but when I instituted a rule that I have to write a page a day, the project flew by and I finished my first book. It felt very good to finish such a large and strange project.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and am a Midwesterner at heart. I love the Cubs and the Bears and wish they could win more consistently. Over the Covid-19 pandemic I did some amateur woodworking and made two crokinole boards of varying quality. If you see me, feel free to challenge me to a game.
Thank you for your support my writing.
